Desert Glow: The Story Behind My Turquoise Jewelry Collection
There’s something magical about the desert. And no, it's not because I was born and raised in Arizona. ;)
The quiet stillness. The glowing sunsets. The endless sky stretching over rugged mountains and cactus-lined landscapes. If you’ve ever spent time in the Southwest, you know the feeling — the land itself seems to radiate warmth, color, and calm.
That feeling is exactly what inspired my newest jewelry release: the Desert Glow Collection. While in Tucson, Arizona for the annual Tucson Gem Show, my mom and I went on a hike. It was so quiet and peaceful. Beautiful sunsets hiding behind the mountains. You could see specs of the sun glowing on the rocks as it was going down.
This collection celebrates the colors, textures, and peaceful beauty of the desert through handcrafted sterling silver jewelry featuring turquoise stones and desert-inspired designs.

Why Turquoise is the Heart of the Desert Glow Collection

Inspired by the Desert Landscape
The designs in this collection were inspired by the desert landscapes I grew up around.
You’ll see those influences reflected throughout the collection:
• Cactus symbolizing resilience and strength
• Mountain details inspired by desert horizons
• Turquoise stones that mirror the blues and greens of the Southwest sky and landscape
Each piece is designed to feel like a small piece of the desert you can carry with you. Some of the pieces even have a stamp of a cactus or mountain on the back!
Exploring New Jewelry Techniques
One of the things that makes the Desert Glow Collection special is that it represents a new creative direction for me.
Along with my traditional stone-set designs, I began experimenting with new jewelry techniques and materials while creating these pieces.
For the first time, this collection includes:
• Turquoise beaded necklaces perfect for layering
• Hand sculpted fine silver cactus charm using metal clay
• Hand-knotted turquoise bead necklace

Each charm begins as soft metal clay that I sculpt by hand, then fire with a torch until it transforms into solid fine silver.
This process makes every charm slightly different, adding to the one-of-a-kind feel of this collection.
